Sample Data Generation

The Sample Data Generation feature in our GRC for Jira plugin is designed to help users quickly understand and explore the capabilities of a selected project by automatically populating it with demo data. This feature is particularly useful for testing and showcasing the functionalities of your project in a controlled environment.

Settings / Sample Data

1. Select a Project:

   • Choose the project for which you want to generate sample data.

2. Set Default Owner/Assignee:

   • Specify a default owner/assignee for the demo data. This user will be assigned to the generated issues as the point of contact.

3. Generate Data:

   • Upon confirmation, the plugin will automatically populate your selected project with demo data.

   • This data includes various elements that are relevant to the project's scope, allowing you to effectively test and showcase the project's features.

• User Roles and Permissions:

  • Depending on your Jira plan, the selected user will be assigned all necessary project roles (or groups) required for issue creation and transitioning.

  • It's important to note that these roles are automatically assigned to facilitate the demo data generation process.

• Post-Generation Adjustments:

  • After the demo data is populated, you may find it necessary to adjust or remove user project roles.

  • These changes can be made in the Jira Project Settings (or administration) page of the respective project.

• Showcase and Testing:

  • The generated sample data is tailored to demonstrate the key features and functionalities of your project.

  • It provides a hands-on experience, making it easier to explore and understand the project's capabilities without the need for manual data entry.

• Effortless Exploration:

  • This feature saves time and effort, especially for new users or when presenting the project to stakeholders.
